Factors associated with pharmacists’ knowledge regarding high-alert medications: a convenience sample survey in China

The consequences of medication errors are more severe for high-alert medications than general drugs. Improving pharmacists’ knowledge regarding is important to increase drug safety and maintain patient health. This study was aimed at understanding Chinese hospital exploring associated factors, provide suggestions management medications. A total 380 pharmacists from four hospitals in southern, northern central China were selected through a convenience sampling method. Through questionnaire survey, the demographic sociology characteristics investigated. Chi-square tests binary logistic regression used analyze factors with 336 valid questionnaires returned, an effective recovery rate 88.4%. Among respondents, 79.2% had high analysis results show that main significantly levels work experience professional title, whether alert-medication obtained network channel, high-alert-medication daily practice double independent checked before use. Increase sharing cases cooperation among different departments medications, rationally adjust arrange responsibilities pharmacists, improve internal circulation helpful cognitive level hospital’s ability control risk medication.
